Jin Liu, Ph.D., is a registered patent agent at Apex Attorneys at Law, LLP. Her practice focuses on patent preparation, patent prosecution, and providing professional advises for domestic and international clients in a wide array of technical areas, including chemicals, pharmaceuticals, small molecules, polymers, antibodies, recombinant DNA technology, organic synthesis, cosmetics, and biotechnology.
Prior to joining the firm, Dr. Liu worked as a research associate scientist in Department of Pathology at Columbia University in New York, where she worked on proteins related to neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s disease and Parkinson’s disease. She also has her postdoctoral training in Department of Biology at University of Pennsylvania, where she worked in the field of electrophysiology which relates to brain functions.
Dr. Liu completed her doctoral studies in biochemistry at Peking Union Medical College in China. She is the co-author of several research publications in a number of peer-reviewed journals, including Nature and Cell. She received her undergraduate degree in Microbiology from Nankai University in China. With years of experience in research field, Dr. Liu possesses a deep understanding of the science underlying her clients’ innovations and provides professional opinions for invention in a wide range of technologies.
